How do you troubleshoot to find out if the fuel filter on a mustang is bad?

[Edit]

Answer

Bad Gas Mileage, Wont accelerate fast, Wont go over 40 mph, they need to be replaced every year or 15,000 miles

now heres the way to do it >>>> if the car doesnt start due to fuel issues <<<<<

attempt to start the car after that fails go under the hood and check the fuel rails to see if there is pressure going to the intake ( now alot of new cars have a valve stem similar to the one on your cars tire you press that and some fuel should squirt out) if there is no pressure than it might not be the filter but the pump itself...if there is pressure than its the filter ..it might be dirty and time to change it..thats how i trouble shoot
