Sexuality like many other human traits is plotted on a bell curve.. A small percentage of humans is believed to be irrevocably straight or homosexual, between the extremes is a group of people who could, given the right environment or circumstances, go either way. Since society overwhelmingly promotes heterosexuality that is the dominant sexual expression. Homosexual expression only happens when there is both genetic predisposition and environmental factors that enhance that predisposition.

Unfortunately, sexual abuse at an early age is one of the most common factors that turns someone away from heterosexual relations. I am not saying that homosexuality is always a function of sexual abuse. It is true that abuse often pushes someone who might otherwise be heterosexual toward homosexuality. There are a lot of women who reserve heterosexual relationships for "professional contacts" and keep to lesbian relationships for intimacy. This is a learned behavior, not a biological function. It is very difficult to overcome that sort of early childhood influence.

How do you turn a straight guy gay? Being gay or straight is thought to be fixed at birth. It is true that women are more flexible than men in sexual preferences, but not by much. And why would you want to turn a lesbian straight? A lesbian is free to live her life the way she seems fit. There are therapists who provide counseling that is claimed by them to turn homosexuals to heterosexuals, but ultimately their success rate is zero.

Just accept what is, and make the best of it.

I think a lesbian can be turned if the right guy came around. This may not be permanent, but they can be turned. You need the right guy with a lot of charm and sexual experience, as well as character. I have turned a few to the good side and they realized what they've been missing. My success rate is 100%.

A Lesbian Point Of View

I believe a true lesbian cannot be turned "straight". Believe me, I've had too many guys try to use that line on me: That I "haven't found the right guy yet... blah blah blah...." If a girl claims to be a lesbian and then has sex with a man, or if she even agrees to have sex with a man -- that's a red flag. No lesbian I know would accept or even talk about having sex with a man. A true lesbian wouldn't get into bed with a man, period--any more than a straight man would consider having sex with another man.

Dream on...it's simply not going to happen!!! I have never in my life had any attractions to a man period. That's not to say that I hate men because I don't. I have a number of male friends that I'm quite close too, but not in a sexual attraction sense and they are gentleman enough...they are REAL MEN...and respect me for who and what I am, just as I accord them. To be so arrogant to think that "the right guy" or anything so foolishly conceived is going to "turn a lesbian" is hogwash and idiotic. You can't make someone something they're not!!! I was born a lesbian and honestly am a little offended anyone would think they could change me just by being male.

I had a girlfriend who had formerly lived her life as a Lesbian. I suppose that technically she's Bi now, but I think that her orientation is still towards women. We had a great physical relationship, and continue to occasionally till this day. I didn't TURN her--I think she decided that she enjoyed having sex with a man once in a while. I have had Lesbian friends in the past and respect where they're at and where they're coming from. Some would definitely not sleep with a guy and some dabble. It's not all cut and dried.

The Biblical Point of View

I find that any moral person will respect the word of God, and stop any homosexual sinning when told that the bible condemns homosexuality. If the person doesn't respect God's will, you probably don't want to be around this person anyway!

Another man's point of view

God loves you the same if you are hetero - bi -lesbian- homosexual etc. As far as will is concerned - god made them the same as they made you -- the bible is simply an interpretation and a metaphor he(it) doesn't pass judgment on people's sexuality. Get a grip and love who you love--and others too. You may find some freedom. Scary thought. Lesbians and Gays are a great contribution to our society. Get used to it.

A Bi Girl's Answer

Sexuality isn't a choice. Though when I was just coming out lots of girls claimed to be bisexual because it was the "in" thing to do; you can't just "turn" somebody of any gender or any sexuality. Homosexuals aren't just homosexual until the right person of the opposite sex comes around. That said, very few people are purely gay or purely straight.

Also, I find sexuality can be fluid: I go through phases where I am almost solely attracted to the same sex, and then phases where I become more bisexual. I won't ever be heterosexual, though there are periods that I can see myself falling in love with a man just as likely as falling in love with a woman.

That said, I really wonder if I guy ever got any success telling a girl that she was only a lesbian because she hadn't met the right guy.
