got to time mode hold down reset button and while held press mode. If days of week are blinking, it beeps. if not, it doesnt

I don't think you can turn off the video watch. It can sleep, but it wastes a lot of power.

that beep is called a post beep. when the computer boots, it goes through some quick tests. If everything check out OK, you should get a single beep. If you get multiple beeps, then that mean there is something wrong with the hardware.
To DISABLE beep, you must unscrew and removed back plate of watch and place a piece of paper between back plate from coming in contact with battery. This will also disable alarm chime but will solve the annoying beeping sound. Hope this helps!
