How do you unlock the 8th Gym Leader Door in Pokemon Ruby Version?

You can get there by Diving in the large area of dark water on route 128 and then by going into the underwater cave and then surfacing there. You will be in the Seafloor Cavern of Team Magma. When you find your way to Maxie, he battles you and you will see Groudon. Groudon goes off somewhere and you see Archie and you all go outside with the flashing light. When Maxie and Archie go, you Fly to Sootopolis and Maxie and Archie will be by the Gym. You Surf to the left and go up the stairs to the top of the town and then over to the right and Wallace the Gym Leader with Steven will be there. They talk to you and you go into the Cave of Origin Where you find Groudon(it's easy to find him). When you catch him(don't use your Master Ball, save it for Latios, or make him faint(not recommended), you come out and you can battle Wallace.

∙ 12y agoyou must have dive with you and then go underwater. You will find a cave go inside and go upwards. Then fight with the team aqua and then after this groudon kyogre will rush away from there. Then go to sootopolis city and talk to steven then go inside the cave and talk to wallace the champion and answer his question by selecting sky pillar. After this go to sky pillar it will be on east side of pacifidlog town. Talk to wallace then go inside the sky pillar and rush away till you get to the top and go near rayquaza. It will run away from there and go to sootopolis city and see the show after this talk to team leaders and then steven he will give you hm waterfall and now you can go inside the gym.
