Make sure the light is red... if it's green press the button on the left, if it's off press the wheel in the middle.
If the light is red, you're ready to record. Press the wheel and play away. When you're done, press it again to stop.
Haven't figured out how to erase yet. I bought it second hand - no manual or software. :(
