I have just had my first experience with lice with my children and searched all over for help. I came across a site that said to use the baking soda for the combing process. Because my son has such fine hair, I was having a horible time getting all the eggs and nits out, by putting conditioner in damp hair and then dipping the METAL (not plastic) comb in the baking soda before I combed through the hair, I was able to get them all out in one sitting. I could not believe what a difference this made. I hear it is from the friction it creates. Good luck and don't get stressed out- it is a pain but by treating it the right way, it can be solved.
The recipe that I use calls for baking soda.
i say you use baking soda i use it every time i make cookies
