iPod touch does not have the Bluetooth feature unlike the iPhone and on that you can only use it for handsfree; its to stop people sending music freely across the networks hence the reason you have to pay for ring-tones on an iPhone, its a pain buts it clever!
new answer: iPod touch 3rd generation does have bluetooth, i am not sure about 2g though.

∙ 14y agoGo on settings, tap general, tap bluetooth, and switch the thing so it reads "ON". If Bluetooth is on you will see the Bluetooth symbol at the top of your ipod.

Hi, It's a bummer where you've got this latest version of bluetooth when you can't really use it. You can't send or receive files via bluetooth on the IPod Touch. That's why you can't see a mobile phone or another IPod Touch on you connected devices list. Bluetooth on the IPod Touch is only in use when you play games with another person side by side, though, you can use 'BUMP' which is in the app store to share photos and pictures with another IPhone or IPod Touch, but not with ordinary mobile phones.
