While holding the alt key down type the ASCII extended character sequence out on the numeric keypad. Note, this does not work well in the Wiki Answers field. Instead, create the characters in notepad and copy and paste them here.

For example, the degree symbol is alt-248. (Numeric keypad, not the top row numbers). 212° F = 100°C
