How do you use the word palliate in a sentence?

Answer:
Palliate means to relieve but not cure. Palliative care is referring to providing comfort measures only to terminal patients.

Ex.
"The medical staff used strong narcotics to palliate the terminally ill patients pain."

In this sentence, the narcotics are relieving the individuals pain, but not curing the disease itself that causes the pain.

There's two definition the other one is:
to make seem less serious; to mitigate

But i don't know a sentence for it.
