How do you use transparency paper in laser printers? In: Technology |
[Edit] |
Answer
No, traditional transparency paper is simple clear plastic. Laser printers use heat to burn toner onto paper to print. Traditional transparency paper will melt and stick to the rollers if used. There are transparency sheet specifically made to support laser printers and you should go to your local office supply store to find some. If the box doesn't specifically say compatible with laser printers then it isn't.
Don't forget ink jets use liquid, which can't print on the smooth transparency surface.

Well it's a good question. You need to remember that transparancy paper "moves" differently then paper and not all printers can work with them, as well as the stock (thickness of it). Remember, how it feeds the paper and settings you use could smudge the ink very easily if not supported.
Just be certain that the printer supports transparancies prior to using and as mentioned above, place it in the paper tray and usually you will have an option to select "transparancy" if the printer supports it and the correct drivers are installed on the PC.
