== == == == === === === === Home owner, big job In the trade this is called a service change. It is a complicated job in as much as you have to know wire sizes, ampacity of wires and proper electrical workmanship. Such a project should be left to a licensed electrical contractor to take out the proper permits and call for proper inspections. By taking this route it will leave you confident that if any mishaps happen to the installation down the road your insurance company will be behind you 100%. <><><>
As always, if you are in doubt about what to do, the best advice anyone should give you is to call a licensed electrician to advise what work is needed. Before you do any work yourself,
on electrical circuits, equipment or appliances,
always use a test meter to ensure the circuit is, in fact, de-energized.
IF YOU ARE NOT ALREADY SURE YOU CAN DO THIS JOB
SAFELY AND COMPETENTLY
REFER THIS WORK TO QUALIFIED PROFESSIONALS.
The input side of the breaker box is the power from your electric supplier and comes through a meter so they can bill you. A qualified electrician is required to make the connection between the meter and the box. The box is also grounded to a ground rod installed at the entry point of the power.
Inside the box there are typically two bus-bars each supplying 120 VAC to a breaker. There is 240 VAC across the two bus-bars. To wire circuits to each breaker, the black wire goes to the breaker, the white wire goes to a neutral bus and the bare ground wire goes to the earth bus. There should also be a screw to "bond" the neutral and ground buses to each other.
Feed-throughs are used for any wire connected to the box by punching-out the round knock-outs in the box.
The box should be wired neatly so it is easy to trace the wires when looking inside the box.
WARNING - Dangerous voltages are present when the box is live and you should not attempt any work inside the box unless you are qualified to do so.
Unless you are an electrician, you don't even attempt it. If you are an electrician, why are you asking the question? Doing it yourself can be a quick way to die.
I doubt if the 125 amp breaker will fit into a 100 amp box. This is due to the rating of the box only being rated at 100 amps. If this exchange could be made then the service conductors feeding the box must be upgraded to take the 125 amperage that the breaker will allow on the conductor.
Your only hope is that someone wired the box not to code and that there are two wires going into the offending breaker. If you can't separate wires you can't distribute the load.

The grounding is done through the metal nipple that connects out of the back of the meter base and into the back of the breaker panel.
the problem is between these two breakers or you have a faulty or oversized breaker closest to the spa.
In the Zeldrin Starport. when you arrive, dont go to captain Qwark. follow the passage and you will end up with the box breaker upgrade.

The rating of the main switch is decided upon by the current incoming mains. The main switch can't be lower than the incoming. In order to upgrade the main switch, the breaker box will need a complete upgrade.

Breaker boxes do not have fuses associated with them unless the main disconnect is independent from the breaker box. If that is the case both fuses have to be the same in the main disconnect that protects the breaker box.
