Here is an example of how you write lab procedures. You can list them like this but it depends on how the teacher wants it. The teacher may want paragraph form lab procedures instead.

Procedures:

  1. Begin at one lab station and find the temperature of the beaker of water.
  2. Then find the pressure of the water in the beaker by using the pressure gage.
  3. Record the data in a table and write the data on the board in class.
  4. Continue the process for the other 5 stations.
  5. When completed, copy all of the data from the board.

or if you need to do in paragraph format, this is how you you do it

Begin at one lab station and find the temperature of the beaker of water. Then find the pressure of the water in the beaker by using the pressure gage. Record the data in a table and write the data on the board in class.Continue the process for the other 5 stations. When completed, copy all of the data from the board.

  1. What chemicals were put together
  2. What happened when they were combined
  3. What was left over

Make sure that you only show what can be observed. NEVER name a chemical.

You need to have three sentences in an observation # What chemicals were put together # What happened when they were combined # What was left over Make sure that you only show what can be observed. NEVER name a chemical. Example: Sodium displacing copper from solution A silver metalic solid was added to a pale blue solution. The silver solid imidiately began to disolve as a salmon pink solid formed. The silver metalic solid disolved to leave a salmon pink solid and a clear colourless solution

It is quite simple. The investigation should start with your aim. What are you trying to prove in your experiment? It should then be followed by the apparatus you are using (beakers, test tubes etc...) followed then by your method. Next are observations and predictions and lastly your conclusion.
