How do you write an analytical paper?

Analytical essays usually concentrate on how a book or poem was written—for example, how certain themes present themselves in the story, or how the use of metaphor brings a certain meaning to a poem.In short, this type of essay requires you to look at the smaller parts of the work to help shed light on the larger picture.Here's how you write one:

1. Start with a strong thesis statement - the statement that basically says what your essay is about. Make your statement one that you can provide proof for and can back up with argument.
2. Give the proof for your statement in however many paragraphs you need (or however many your teacher has assigned). Make sure each paragraph contains one argument only.
3. Write a great conclusion, in which you summarize what you've written
4. Now, go back and write a killer introduction with a "hook" - notice how you do this last. That's because your introduction is what's going to "hook" your readers into finishing your paper, and until you've actually gotten everything written, you're not going to know what the best "hook" for your particular paper is. The introduction says what your paper is going to be about, but doesn't summarize it.
