How do your take out the drive shaft in a 1989 Ford Taurus so you can change the transmission? In: Ford Taurus |
[Edit] |
Before you jack up the car, loosen the hub nut on the axle shaft. You'll need a long 1/2 breaker bar to move that nut. It's torqued to 180 ft/lbs. You'll also have to remove the tie rod end and possibly the lower ball joint nut. Once those are removed, you can use a crowbar to separate the hub from the ball joint and move the hub so you can pull the outer CV joint out of it. Afte that's done, use a crowbar at the inner CV joint and pry it out using a quick snapping motion. That will dislodge the C clip that's holding it in the transmission.
Answer
frist thing is you, need to take off
the wheel than there is a bolt on the rotor its 1/4 th in take a breaker bar and take off the nut then undo the tie rod and caliper once you have done that. there will be two bolts holding the hub
take them off. Now pull out the
shaftout of the hub thenyouwill be able to pull the rest out of the transmission.
