How does Cleopatra's Needle relate to Cleopatra?

Answer:
Cleopatra's needles have nothing to do with Cleopatra herself. They were originally built and inscribed by Thutmose III in about 1450 BC. and stood at a temple at Heliopolis. When the Ptolemies conquered Egypt they moved them to Alexandria and there they stayed. The name "Cleopatra's Needles" is just another popular misconception about ancient Egypt and Cleopatra.
