Benjamin-Moore is a international company that sell through 'dealers' around the world. Kelly-Moore Paints has a network of company owned stores located throughout 9 western states. This results in an increased cost of 30-40% for the BM paints which are sold to dealers, marked up, and resold to the public. In addition, BM spends literally millions of dollars on advertising, which is passed along to you.
BM has a great color system but their products are not of the quality and consistency of Kelly-Moore's. In all my years of experience, I have found no other paint product that works as well ,or lasts as long, as Kelly-Moore. BM paints don't cover well and don't last on the exterior of homes.
Find your colors whereever you want, but purchase Kelly-Moore paint if you are looking for a product that works great.

∙ 14y agoIn general, Kelly-Moore is a higher quality product than Behr, producing a quality look in one-coat over most surfaces and applications. Behr products can take two to three coats at times. Behr is a less expensive product and available in ore locations.

Have someone roll both on a white primed piece of drywall. Watch the coverage. It's visually distinct. Behr wins hands down. Now try Behr Premium Plus and Sherwin Williams Pro Mar 200. Now you really see the difference. I've used both on my rental properties. Behr allows me to save money and time. Fewer coats are needed. The pealing exterior window frames cover well with Ultra paint and primer in 1. The paint shell that follows after drying is hard and durable. So far one winter shows no sign of degrade, fading or discoloration. Home Depot's pricing .is remarkable less than the Sherwin Williams. Unless I receive some stimulus to buy other paint- Behr is all I will buy
