However, In the movie you find that Seneca Crane is locked into a room with just a bowl in the centre of the room, when he looks inside he finds nightlock berries, the same berries that Katniss and Peeta threatened to eat to commit suicide.

He cannot escape the room, therefore is forced to eat the berries.
