Well I'm not sure if you want the complete mechanical end of things... But i know some...

The wrench will have usually a turn type of an adjuster on the handle specifying torque amount. It works as a ratchet wrench until you hit the specified torque and you'll feel and also hear the wrench head and handle make a loud click when you hit that desired setting.

"If you keep trying to ratchet the wrench will net let you go anymore it will just keep clicking until you change the torque amount up on the dial"

------------------------------------------------------------------------

That last statement is false- The wrench will continue to tighten the bolt/nut after it clicks. It will only click once which is when the tension 'Pawl' flicks to the side as the side tension out muscles the spring tension (torque setting you have set). Once it has flicked to the side it cannot go any further so will continue to tighten if you go past that point. If you ratchet back and have another go that is different but once you hear the click do not continue in the direction of tightening. It is very different to how say your 24V cordless drill would work.

What kind of jobs require a pneumatic torque wrench?

Jobs that require a pneumatic torque wrench include jobs that require mechanical work. This includes car mechanics, which use these wrenches to change lug nuts on a wheel.

Difference between horsepower and torque?

Torque is the measurement of turning force. A wrench applies torque to a bolt. A motor or engine provides torque to do work. Horsepower is the measurement of the work done or ability to do work. This is done by taking the speed the engine is operating at (RPM) and what torque it is producing and applying a formula to give a horsepower rating.

What is a torch wrench?

# If you mean "torque" wrench, that's a tool to assist a mechanic to accurately tighten a bolt to a pre-determined torque. Torque is the twisting force. If you over-torque bolts they will fail, if you UNDER-torque them, they will work loose. # If you really mean "torch wrench", that's a term some guys use in difficult situations. "Ah, nuts, I can't get that rusted bolt to come off so I'll just use the torch wrench" Sometimes it's called a "hot wrench" or whatever other euphemism the mechanic is accustomed to, but it's basically an acetylene torch with a cutting tip.

Does using an extension on a torque wrench change the ability to achieve the desired torque value?

If you are just sticking a piece of pipe on the handle so you (as the user) can apply more force to the tool, no, it won't change the ability to get a desired torque on a fastner. And adding an extension between the socket and the drive head of the wrench (a so-called socket extension) to extend the reach of the tool won't negatively affect the performance of the tool, either. The tool must be used properly in either case to get accurate results, but the torque wrench's ability to deliver correct results in accordance with the settings on it won't be diminished. If the tool is the so-called beam-type torque wrench, again, no, you shouldn't have a problem as long as you work carefully.

What is torque socket?

Answer A torque wrench has a gage which indicates the amount of twisting pressure (torque) applied as the fastener is tightened. This ensures the proper amount of torque and consistency and is meant to prevent over- or under-tightening of the fastener great answer! often used on car tires

1994 ranger bed bolt torque specs?

I used full torque with an impact wrench ratedto 750ft/lbs. And they managed to work themselves loose after about 20000 miles. So just go as hard as you possibly can i guess...and use loctite.

How do you use a torque wrench?

Why Use a Torque Wrench?A bolt sitting on your workbench is at rest regardless of whether it is made of metal or rubber. When you install the bolt in an application and begin to tighten it with a wrench it begins to stretch and load up a force along its length. Just like a rubber bolt, if you tighten a metal bolt too much it will break the bolt (or damage the application), but if it's not tight enough it will not have the proper preload to hold the application together. You could just tighten up the bolt as much as you can, but in most cases an engineer has calculated how much "give" should be between the bolted surfaces to assure minimal wear and maximum application life in whatever bumpy, cyclic environment the bolt is designed to be used. The answer to achieving the proper amount of preload is to use a torque wrench, and just as importantly to use it correctly. You don't. If you want to do it right you need a torque wrench. It is more important than people think to torque fasteners properly.+++It is - you can do a lot of damage with incorrect or uneven tightening. If a proper torque-wrench is unavailable it is sometimes possible to use a strong spring-balance on the handle of a standard socket-set, and use the standard formula relating tension, length and torque, but that is potentially inaccurate it's far, far better to use the correct tool!ALL of the above comments are absolutely correct- I would add only that just offhand I can think of 2 common applications on cars where use of a torque wrench is essential -Cylinder head bolts and trans pan bolts.

How do you change the spark plugs on a 1995 Honda Civic LX?

You will need an extension for a socket, the correct socket (I think 5/8 will work), and a torque wrench. First, use the extension and socket to screw onto the spark plug. Once it becomes too hard to turn it by hand use the torque wrench. Once the plug is out, take your new one (I recommend NGK) and thread it into place without using the torque wrench. Then once it is too hard by hand use the wrench and tighten to the recommended number (most likely 19 N). Repeat for the other three plugs. If I were you I would also put anti-sieze lubricant on the threads of the new spark plugs. This will make it easier to remove the plugs next time around.
