How does a flintlock work?

Answer:
To put it in basic detail, flint creates fire sparks when it strikes steel, right? So a flintlock uses this power to shoot. When the trigger is pulled while the bullet and gunpowder is loaded, the trigger opens a spring that causes a small piece of wood holding a piece of flint to strike a steel slab. When the two touch the sparks light the gunpowder that is in the compartment under the steel slab, lighting it and throwing out the bullet.
