I am just trying to figure out feelings of my girlfriend. Here is the situation. She and I have been friends for years. I have been friends with her ex also, but i have always loved her and known that, but never touched her because of respect for him. I am 18 and just went to college, she is a junior in high school. She and i would talk alot about everything all the time and was/is my best friend. ... anyway long story short, we hooked up alot over summer starting with my graduation night and she and him broke up but still talk alot. She tells me she still hasn't gotten over him and he knows that we hook up, but not that we have been actually dating for 3 months, and i have been at college, but come home for breaks plus she came out to visit me. She still has alot of feelings for him and gets like crying over him jealous of the girls he hooks up with, and we talk about it alot.
I am on Christmas break right now. Two weeks ago she cheated on me with him, but says it was good because it helped her figure out her feelings for him and know she for sure wants to be with me. Her love for me is not the question.. i know she does alot. Anyway, after that i began talking to her more and more about it, and after tonight she was crying and talking to him all night after she found out he has been hooking up with this one chick, i got really mad and we got in a huge fight. When she is with me she loves me and is mine, but still hasn't told her ex about the fact we are dating because it would hurt him too much, and she wants to stay friends with him.
My question is, how do i get her to a) tell him about us, and b), any strategies that would help her forget about him. Keep in mind they both play basketball together, have same classes, and have same friend group. I suggested her to stop talking to him all together but she got mad and refused.
I am thinking of breaking up to let her figure stuff out, but i know she will get back with him because it is easier and comfortable to her... they have been together for 3 years. Its extremely complicated, but i need any help from females to figure out her mindset, or males ideas on how to deal... Its also hard because despite how it may sound, i am very handsome, confident, going to be a doctor, going to top 5 schools in nation... and really cool, and have alot of prospects, but this girl i love and don't want to lose. HELP!
