In my experience, I've never found a recruitment or placement agency that was worth the money they demanded. Some agencies offer little more than lists of companies and contact info, much of which can be outdated. Other agencies purport to offer services such as resume writing, private leads, meetings with inside contacts and support in job and salary negotiation. My experience with such an agency was dismal. The "inside contacts" turned out to be other clients like myself who were also looking for work. And while these agencies can help you put together a good resume, it's nothing you couldn't learn and do on your own.

There may be some good agencies out there, but be very wary. If they worked like they say they do, all anyone would have to do is shell out a few bucks to find a dream job.

First you look at any job leads that the recruitment or placement agency placed on all the career boards to see if you are the right fit. Then you will go to their website to register. Once the recruitement or placement agency received your resume through their website, someone who works there will give you a call to for an "interview". They will not ask you the regular interview questions like tell me something about yourself. The recruiter will ask you what type of assignments will you like to fill. You can't say I will take anything. That is going a lit overboard. For example let's say you visit one who specialize in admin and you can't tell them you will like to be an admin if you never had the experience to begin with. These people won't place you. They will place you according to your skill level. After telling the recruiter what type of assignments you will like to fill, then you will take a couple of tests to see if your score is up to their standards. If it is, then they will find "work" for you. Mostly it is temp work and it is very rare that they will send you on a temp-to-hire because you will never be hired on a full time basis for that company. They charge outrageous fees. These people are very good in finding work only if they really place people. There are some agencies who never place people at all So ask people you know which agency (ies) they recommend.

What is an IT Recruitment Agency, And How Does it Work?

An IT recruitment agency is a type of staffing agency that specializes in sourcing and hiring candidates for IT-related positions. These agencies work with businesses and organizations to help them find the right IT talent to meet their needs. Here is how an IT recruitment agency typically works: Client Consultation: The IT recruitment agency will meet with the client company to understand their staffing needs, including the roles and responsibilities of the positions they are looking to fill, the required skills and qualifications, and any other specific requirements. Sourcing Candidates: The recruitment agency will use various methods to source candidates for the IT roles, including online job postings, social media, referrals, and their own database of potential candidates. Screening and Selection: The agency will conduct initial screening of candidates to determine if they meet the client company's requirements, such as their skills, experience, and qualifications. They may also conduct interviews and assessments to further evaluate candidates. Presenting Candidates: The recruitment agency will present a shortlist of qualified candidates to the client company, along with their resumes and any other relevant information. Interviewing and Hiring: The client company will then interview the candidates and select the one(s) they wish to hire. The recruitment agency may assist with salary negotiations and other aspects of the hiring process. Follow-up: The IT recruitment agency will maintain communication with both the client company and the hired candidate to ensure that the placement is successful and that both parties are satisfied. Overall, an IT recruitment agency acts as a middleman between businesses and IT talent, helping to find, evaluate, and hire candidates for IT-related roles. By using the services of an IT recruitment agency, businesses can save time and resources in the hiring process, while ensuring that they find the right talent for their needs.

What is the difference between recruitment and employment?

A recruitment matches up people wanting work with employers with vacancies. Recruitment do not employ these workers. The employer pays the workers direct and pays the agency a fee for finding the employee. Employment employ workers and then hire them out to clients. A typical example would be a temp secretarial agency. The workers are employed, salary paid and tax deducted by the employment agency, not by the client for whom the carry out the work. The client pays the agency and not the worker for the work carried out.
