The issue of pregnancy does not change the fact that the state does not have grounds nor procedures for the emancipation of a minor. The court does have the power to grant limited rights to a minor for the purpose of receiving medical care and public assistance if it is warranted.

No, a minor who becomes pregnant is not automatically emancipated. The minor female can petition the court for emancipation rights for the purpose of becoming eligible for public assistance for herself and her unborn child if the situation warrants such action.

Sorry, but Tennessee does not have an emancipation statute.

Check with the Courts, or look up the Tennessee Revised Statues. There should be a law in there about Emancipation. Just go to Yahoo and type, Tennessee Revised Statues Emancipation, in the search box.

There is emancipation statute in Tennessee. And your ability to get pregnant doesn't mean that you can take care of yourself. Having a child does not emancipate you.

No, in Virginia you are not emancipated automatically when you are pregnant. It does not mean one has the ability to take care of yourself. You do have certain rights as to obtaining assistance for you and your child, but you are still the responsibility of your parents until you turn 18.

No. Tennessee does not have waiver rights allowing a pregnant minor or one who has a child to be married without the consent of parents or a legal guardian. Can a 17 year old pregnant girl get married without parents?

Most parents will consent to marriage if their daughter is pregnant. If this is not the case however you will have to wait until you have you baby. When you have your baby you are automatically emancipated and are considered an adult and then you can get married without consent. You are only medicly emancipated, your parents still have legal control over that. You would have to get a judge to overturn your parents desision which is hard to do.
