All rhino's posses a large horn which they use for mating rights and for protection . White Rhino's however have a bit of an anger problem and are easily provoked combined with its large horn its a recipe for disaster. I have heard of a white rhino charging a full sized SUV and turning it on its side.

The Black Rhino, as well as the White, have thick hides that are very hard to penetrate with tooth or claw. Even the thick horn on their heads has a hard time piercing their hide. The horn also acts as a weapon when defending themselves, both from predators and from other rhino. They also have sharp hooves. They have poor eyesight but make up for it with well developed hearing and smell. Hearing and smell help them detect predators in the area and using the horn to charge and huff at a threat are two of the main ways. The thick hide is a last resort.
