Acorns are grown on a tree, when they get very hot they open up and let go of their seeds. That is why it is good to have fires around acorn trees so the acorns open up grow more trees

Quercus robur is the English Oak so an acorn from one of those planted in the ground or in a pot will produce an English Oak all things going for you.
