Amino acids become proteins through the process of dehydration synthese. On other hands, proteins are broken down into amino acids through the process of hydrolysis.

Proteins are the tertiary/quaternary structure of amino acids.

Primary structure: amino acid sequence

secondary structure: hydrogen bonds occur between the animo groups

tertiary structure: r-groups and polypeptides bond and create a 3D shape.

quaternary structure:multiple tertiary structures together.
