Anoreixa can affect hair in a few ways. The hair on the head can fall out, thin, become brittle or fragile, become lank, and / or lose its "shine" from a lack of nutrients. Once enough body fat is lost, a thin peach-fuzz type of hair will begin to grow on the head, arms, back, and chest. This is the body's last resort instinct to try and keep a person warm when they don't have enough body fat. This hair is called lanugo. It is possible that hair will grow slower, also due to a lack of nutrient in the body to propell it along.
