In humans and most animals, cells formed by meiosis division become gametes (sperm or eggs). In plants, meiosis cell division results in the formation of meiospores that grow into haploid gametophytes. These gametophytes in turn produce gametes by mitotic division. In either case, the basic result of meiosis is the same: haploid cells with increased genetic variation.

Additionally, mitotis division in plants follows the same basic pattern that occurs in animals, with some notable exceptions. The cells of most plants do not have centrioles, although a spindle of fibers is present. Cytokinesis usually, but not always occurs during telophase. The rigid cell wall prevents the formation of cleavage furrow during cytokinesis; instead, a cell plate forms to separate the parent cell into two daughter cells, and a new cell wall forms along the cell plate.

How does a animal cell differ from a plant cell during the cell division?

In animal cells, centrioles self replicate, plant cells do not have centrioles Animal cells form asters, plant cells do not Cytokinesis is done by cleavage furrowing in animal cells while plant cells form a cell plate

How is cytoplasmic division of animal cells accomplished?

Cytoplasmic division of animal cells is accomplished by the cytoplasm cells have a reaction with the nucleas. This irritates the other cells and the change then occurs with the division.

During cytokinesis what is a major difference between cell division in plant and animal cells?

The major in cell division (cytokinesis) in plant and animal cells is in plant cells, meiosis is only undergone from a spore to a sporophyte (from 2n to n) whereas in the animal cells, meiosis splits the sex cells into 4 new cells.

Do all animals have the same cells?

Cells between various animal species may differ in shape and function slightly, but the majority are similar.

How does cell division in animals differ from cell division in plants?

It differs during cytokenisis, the splitting of the cell. In animal cells the two new nuclei go to opposite sides of the cell and a microfiliment is pulled tight around the cell until it is so tight that it cuts it in half. In plant cells a new cell wall is created in between the two nuclei. During nuclear division in animal cells centrioles are visible and cytokinesis is os furrowing type. In plants centrioles are not seen during nuclear division and cytokinesis is achieved by cell plate formation.

How does plant cell reproduction differ from animal cell reproduction?

the main difference is that animal cells have centrolls that help in the process of division and plants do not.

How do plant cells differ from animal cells for class 9?

Plant cells have cell walls, large central vacuoles and photosynthetic chloroplasts. Animal cells have no cell wall, but they do have lysosomes and centrioles which emanate the microtubules during nuclear division.

How does mitosis differ between the onion root and the roundworm?

The only difference between vegetal (onion) cells and animal (roundworm) is not quite in mitosis, but in citokinese (not a mitosis phase since mitosis refers to nucleus division). Vegetal cells have a thick wall rounding the cell which needs different means to split than the membrane in animal cells

Which energy source fuels cell division in animal cells?

ATP fuels cell division in animal cells.

What is the difference between cell division in plant cells and in animal cells is that plant cells have?

One difference between cell division in plant cells and in animal cells is that plant cells have a cell plate. Animals cell's have a cleavage furrow.

How does the structure of the plant cell differ from the structure of an animal cell?

Plant cells have cell walls (cellulose), sap vacuoles, endoplasmic reticulums & plastids (chloroplats, leucoplasts, etc.) which amimal cells don't have. Animal cells have centrioles for cell division which plant cells don't have.
