Most people are either left brain hemisphere, or right brain hemisphere dominant (though some are co-dominant). Left hemisphere thinkers are generally analytical, textbook, step-by-step, study-in-a-silent-room kinds of people. Right hemisphere thinkers are generally the more creative, outside-the-box sorts, who need stimulation to really process things well. Chewing gum can improve concentration in those who are more right hemisphere dominant by stimulating their brain.
