When Heat is transferred through a material, The Particles around it vibrate and bounce off other particles. Therefore it becomes a chain.Conduction is almost like a Conducter. When a metal rod heats up in a fire, the end turns orange. It vibrates all the way up in a short amount of time and eventually it transfers all the way up.

Heat moves from one molecule to another. Conduction occurs best in metals. This is because in a metal, there are lots of spare electrons. When the heat energy hits an electron, it starts to vibrate, which produces temperature, this electron hits other electrons as it vibrates, causing them to vibrate and the heat travels along the metal.

hope that made sense :)

Thermal conduction is the transfer of heat energy through direct contact. Heat energy is technically the kinetic energy of individual particles. The higher the kinetic energy, the more heat energy it contains. In thermal conduction, the particle with the higher kinetic energy loses some of that energy upon collision with a particle with lower kinetic energy. The second particle's kinetic energy is then increased, and upon collision with another particle it transfers some of its energy to the next particle, and so on. Eventually the kinetic energy of all the particles is uniform.

Conduction occurs because the increased amplitude of vibration of molecules is transferred from molecule to molecule from a hot end to a cold (less hot) end of a substance.

Is convection a chemical reaction?

no it is a type of conduction that can happen in liquids and gases, conduction happens in solids, and radiation happens in gases

What are the differences of conduction and convection?

Convection has a cycle of what happens. Conduction dosent have a cycle

What happens when heat is transfered by air currents?

conduction

What happens to the particles in objects during conduction?

When a body is conducting, its mobility of ions( valence) is responsible for conduction. As mobility increase, conduction increase. That's why falling temperature reduce it and rising temperature increase it.

What happens during continuous conduction?

In Saltatory conduction, the signal leaps or hops from node of Ranvier to another. It uses less energy and it faster. In continuous conduction, the nerve is bare of myelin, moves in continuous waves and the signal is slower.

What happens when two substances that have different temperatures touch each other heat moves from one to the other by what?

Heat transfer by contact is called conduction.

What are the differences between conduction convection and radiation?

Conduction-happens when heat moves from one object to another through direct contact Radiation-happens when energy ,such as heat, moves in waves between one object and another Convection-happens when matter carries heat from one place to another

What happens to materials when they cool?

When a body is cooled , its interatomic movements get slow down. A supercooled body is resistant to heat and electric conduction as particles responsible for conduction are non mobile.

It ionizes and creates path for the conduction to take place.

What is the transfer of heat by contact called?

Conduction.
