If you cut a bit of it there is a flat surface and then ridges of cardboard of top. The little ridges have air trapped in them, which causes the cardboard to float.
You really can't:)) Cardboard gets soggy in water and will eventually sink, no matter what. however, do you have clay? You can make it into the shape of a boat, let it dry, and I think it will float....
