Trees and all vegetation absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere through photosynthesis. They store the carbon and release the oxygen. So fewer trees means more carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas, in the atmosphere where it is capturing more and more warming.

Chopping down vast tracts of forest to use for construction, or to build houses on the land reduces the amount of CO2 that can be absorbed. Increased CO2 in the atmosphere traps more of the suns warmth close to the planets surface - increasing temperatures.

∙ 9y agowhen we are cutting trees, we are actually reducing the oxygen from the environment as they release o2 and are increasing the carbon dioxide as they consume it .and because of increasing carbon dioxide in environment the temperature is increasing day by day leading to global warming( i.e. melting of ice caps and increasing sea level)
