Following a detoxification diet may restore nutritional balance to the body and relieve joint pain. Animal proteins may induce joint pain caused by such inflammatory conditions as arthritis, so following a vegetarian diet may be helpful.
Joint pain may be relieved by massaging the area above and below the painful joint. Massaging with ice packs may interfere with pain signals and replace them with temperature signals.
Special foods include potato pancakes (latkes) and jelly donuts (sufganiyot). Also, any foods fried in oil are traditional. There isn't anything that could be called a "Hanukkah Dinner" though.
A big one, especially rice. When I was there I got two massive spoons of rice for dinner, another two for lunch and also two at breakfast. The plates come with it on it.
