A multiplexer breaks large amounts of data into smaller chunks so that the processor can manipulate it more easily and give back the processed data in pieces when it finishes processing it. A multiplexer is also responsible for breaking up the data if you have more than one processor or core (as in dual core) in your computer.

What is strobe input in multiplexer?

It is the enable line. Used to enable the multiplexer to function. For low enable multiplexers, strobe is set to 0 to enable the multiplexer whereas in high enable multiplexers, it is set 1 to enable the multiplexer.

Is Multiplexer acts as not gate?

f = ~s.a + s.b , thus is the function for a multiplexer. let a not gate with input x and output y. set a = 1 and b =0 to get a not gate. y = ~x.1 + x.0

What advantage does a statistical multiplexer have over a TDM multiplexer or FDM multiplexer?

Statistical multiplexer does not reserve time slots or frequencies. Instead, it dynamically allocates bandwidth only when it is needed.

What are the differences between electronic multiplexer and mechanical multiplexer?

An electronics multiplexer will select an output by a digital code. a mechanical multiplexer will select an out by a mechanical switch of sort possibly driven by a motor

What is difference between encoder and multiplexer in digital electronics?

An encoder refers to a device that is used to change a signal or data into a code. Whereas a Multiplexer or mux is a device which performs multiplexing or it takes information from more than one channels and outputs into a single channel. Thus a multiplexer is basically a kind of encoder where its function is to combine multiple inputs into one output.
