First, make sure you actually DO have belly fat. Or is it a case of muscles that are just out of tone and everything is sagging. I know far too much about sagging. If your doctor is telling you to gain a little weight I suggest that it probably isn't a fat belly but probably a toning problem. To tighten up the belly do some crunches and/or situps. But you also need to follow the doctors orders and put on some weight. Doctors don't say such things unless they feel that there is a potential problem. Many women have suffered serious health problems from having insufficient body fat and feeling that they are fat when they aren't. Don't trust the mirror, since none of us are good at judging our own appearance. I'm serious, it really is important to trust the doctor. If you are having a problem that makes you feel bad about your appearance, get counseling. This is a dangerous condition to be ignoring.
