How does one respond to a first job offer when waiting to hear from other potential employers?

Answer

Call the other potential employers and let them know you have an offer for whatever amount and ask if they were still considering you. Let them know they have a day to do so before you will accept the other offer. Don't leave a company's offer hanging, you will want to get back to them as soon as possible.
