How does smallpox attacks and spreads?

Answer:
Smallpox, the variola virus of the Poxviridae family typically spreads via contact with the characteristic lesions the disease develops. Note that it was thought to pass from apparently asymptomatic carriers as well, although this may be anecdotal.

Victims spiked a high fever and the aforementioned lesions or blebs. If unchecked, the disease led to collapse and death.

Since 1980, Smallpox is considered eradicated, and exists only in laboratories. There is some speculation that it may be considered as a biological weapon, and a vaccine reserve is apparently under production.
