It depends on what type of marker. Some markers (like sharpies) have fumes that can make you light headed, dizzy, or high. However, their may be some negative health effects from sniffing markers for a high (you could be killing brain cells).
When you sniff markers, your body may have side effects due to the chemicals in the markers. You may get dizzy, relaxed, or you may develop a headache.
The marker will become dry. There isn't enough solvent emitted from markers to cause any inhalant effect.

Well as long as you dont constantly sniff them and use them in inapropriat ways then they are not fatal.
LOL what i do is take a peice of fabric that isn't needed... write on it with the marker .. then sniff the opposite side of the fabric that you wrote on.. it works pretty well lol
