How does the Bible say the world was created?

Answer:
The Bible says that the world was created by God in six days.

God also created the world by his word. He just said "Let there be light!" - it all came to pass and so it was.

This is what Paul wants us to understand when he wrote in the book of Hebrews:

"Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear." (Hebs.11.3)

Genesis 1.1: "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth".

This is as much detail as ever provided with reference to the earth as a whole; various specific parts of it are stated as being, or are implicitly created in the same undefined way.

Later verses of the same book and chapter provide a perhaps more useful story; to wit, "God said, 'let it be'." All that happened was the deity saying those words, and it - by such deity's power - coming into existence.
