How does the Electronic Numerical Integrator and Calculator relate to today's computers?

Answer

ENIAC was the first electronic computer. Calculating machines had been built before this, but they were mechanical, and used gears to calculate numeric values. ENIAC used vacuum tubes to switch current, and worked with a numbering system other than base 10, which is what humans used. Look ENIAC up on Wikipedia for more information.
