To survive on television a show needs to draw sufficient viewers - and therefore revenue - to justify its continued existence.
Any viewer has the option to turn off any program they don't enjoy. They can even turn off the whole television if they like.
What matters is the viewers who keep watching. As long as enough of them keep watching, the show keeps showing.
