What organs does asthma affect?

Asthma is a condition of the lungs. The nerves coating the inside of the lungs and the windpipe become sensitive and often restrict for short periods leaving a smaller hole for the air to pass through causing the sufferer to "wheeze". As a result, the lungs struggle to breath in enough air to maintain the boday and certain organs can become deprived of oxygen for a short period of time, affecting mostly the heart and brain. Long time sufferers will have scarring on their lungs from past attacks. You will also find their stomach muscles and diaphragm may be enlarged as these muscles are unnaturally used to force air in and out of the lungs during an attack. (asthma is a long term condition)
