Best Answer

Skin is relatively tough and is not normally penetrated by viruses or bacteria.

In humans, secretions from sebaceous and sweat glands give the skin pH of about 3 to 5 is used to prevent colonizations of many pathogens. In addition, the secretion also contains antimicrobial proteins such as lysozyme which digest the cell walls of many bacteria.

In the lining of your nose, trachea, and lungs, the skin is covered with mucous membranes that trap the pathogens before it spreads. Also, the cilia traps pathogens inside the trachea.
