Earthquakes happen when plates collide at what is called a transform boundary the transform boundary happens alomg faults and makes the two plates slide against each other to create vibrations so loud that they are felt by earthquakes

Well underneath the ground the earth is split in many different ways that means it has cracks in the very middle of the earth there is lava when that lava bubbles it moves the cracks or make them rub against each other then the push up or down at one time and that creates an earthquake.

Earthquakes happen because the earth is split into 4 parts the core, the inner mantle, the upper mantle and the crust. The crust is split into different areas, called plates, and these plates get moved by the convection currents in the upper mantle. Earthquakes occur when the different plates move against each other and create vibrations, thus creating an earthquake.
