Just like any other condition. It is pre-existing if it was diagnosed prior to applying for the insurance.

Does there have to be a diagnosis to be considered a preexisting condition?

According to my insurance company if you have seen a doctor about the condition it is preexisting.

Does treatment by a chiropractor prior to an insurance start date determine a preexisting condition and how can an insurance company find out about chiropractic treatment prior to being insured?

The Insurance Company generally finds out by what you tell them on the application. If you don't tell them, they probably have the right to deny coverage and rescind the application. check what YOUR policy says

In Texas can insurance companies reject patients with preexisting conditions?

Any Health Insurance company can reject anyone with a pre existing condition. Look for another Health Insurance company if you are rejected by one.

Is there an insurance company for pregnant dogs?

There is an insurance company for vet services, but it is pretty expensive. I tried it once and dropped it. Not sure if they would cover a dog with a "preexisting condition." Call your vet they have the forms for the company.

Can you get individual health insurance if you have a preexisting condition?

Yes, though it is hard. Also, preexisting conditions vary, as far as definition, from one company to another. While it is easier to get coverage through an employer, you are able to get it via a private company.

If you lost a job that had no medical insurance would a job that your 5 month pregnant wife is about to start be covered?

More and more insurances are beginning to cover pregnancy that is pre-existing. The only way to find out for sure is ask the insurance or the company that she is going to work for should have someone that knows the insurance plans. * In a group insurance plan, pregnancy cannot be considered a preexisting condition. Where can you get insurance if your already pregnant?

You should contact your state DHHS (Dept. of health & human services) and apply for Medicaid... You could do it online. I live in Texas and EVERY insurance company has told me that they will not cover the pregnancy/maternity costs b/c it is a preexisting condition. The HIPPA act only covers you if you have insurance already or within the past 63 days.

Can reposession company file a claim with your car insurance company to fix preexisting damage?

If your lien holder repo's your vehicle, they can file a claim against your insurance for damage to the vehicle. The repo company itself would have no claim, because it's not their vehicle.

Can your company be penalized for a pre existing condition you do not list on your application for group health insurance?

Presumably in this context it is your employer providing you with health insurance. It is not that your company would be penalized, it is that the insurance company would refuse to pay for treatment of the preexisting condition. They set rates according to the known health of their pool of insured people. But upon signing up for your company's insurance plan you failed to divulge a known condition, and signed the statement saying you were giving the insurance company an accurate statement of your health, so you lied to them (aka committed fraud). That generally voids your policy.Check the particular wording of your own insurance policy regarding preexisting conditions.

Is having a heart cathetor test considered pre existing condition?

Tests, of any kind, are not included in the definition of preexisting condition. You have to be given a definitive diagnosis from that testing in order to have a preexisting condition. If by having a heart cath test, it was determined that you did not need to have one placed, then you do not have a preexisting condition. For example, you may have an MRI/CAT Scan and then a PET Scan to determine if you have cancer, but if they find you do not have cancer, then you are not diagnosed with a condition, therefore cannot considered preexisting. I should add that, generally if a Dr. wants to evaluate for a heart cath, then you currently have or have had issues with your heart in the past. This may be something like a high percentage blockage, irregular heart beat, thickening of the lining around your heart, etc. This would be considered a preexisting condition and future insurance companies may determine that any intervention needed on your heart would be preexisting. However, insurance companies usually have a preexisting time frame (generally 12 or 24 months) in which a condition is no longer consider preexisting. For example, if you were diagnosed with a heart condition 13 months ago and the insurance company you are planning on joining policy is a 12-month limit on pre-existing conditions, then you are in the clear and the preexisting condition clause does not apply to you.

If you get pregnant will you be kicked off your fathers health insurance plan?

It depends of the type of coverage your father has. There are two types of plans, one that covers pregnancy of wives and the other covers pregnancy of all dependants listed on that plan. You will have to contact your insurance company or the plan sponsor to determine what provisions are listed on that plan.

Is it possible to get health insurance with a preexisting condition?

If you are being offered a health plan through a company there should be no preexisting condition requirements. If you are going through another company when you lost your job there may be problems getting insurance. You should contact different companies to see, but the new health care bill should protect you.
