Weight loss works whenever the dieter is putting the effort of losing weight. Dieters come in various forms, some are obese (regular or morbid), some are overweight, some are average and others are under weight.

Weight is determine by the amount of calories one consumes. If the amount of calories exceeds the amount deposited than that gradually leads to people being overweight and therefore one needs to apply the same principals but in reverse to lose weight. Why are some capable of losing weight and others aren't. This is a question that is related to genetics. However, fat can be lost by a change of eating habits and burning calories through exercise.
