They are not very effecient. a wind turbine that is 50 % effecient is very effecient compared to other wind turbines. this is because most of the kinetic energy is changed into heat instead of electrical energy.

It is not really possible for wind turbines to convert 100% of energy into usable electricity. An efficiency level of 35 to 50% conversion is more realistic, since there are so many uncontrollable factors in wind energy - not least of which is the uncertainty of the weather!

Wind turnbines are a very efficient form of renewable energy. Wind trbines placed in the correct area can supply endless energy.
