I walk about an hour each day and burn around 350 calories on each walk. Running you would burn more calories. I try to walk 2.5 miles each day, and that takes the full hour. Everyone should get 60 minutes of exercise each day. I walk 30 minutes, Stretch and do jumping jacks for about 15 minutes, and then walk another 30 minutes. If your are dieting here are some tips:

*Exercise about 60-120 minutes each day (more if you can)

*Try eating cereal for Breakfast each morning. ( It has no fat grams)

*Keep track of calories, and don't take in more then you should for your height, weight, and age.

I hope this helps:)

HOW MANY CALORIES BURNED WALKING FOR ONE HOUR

So, how many calories burned walking for one hour? Well it depends on what you have in mind. Do you want a Sunday afternoon slow stroll through the park or do you want to turn your walking into mild cardiovascular (cardio) exercise such as brisk walking, or even Nordic walking, in order to lose weight?

In addition to the above, the number of calories burned is also determined by your weight, your age, your current degree of fitness, your body composition, and where you choose to walk -- hard ground, soft ground, on an incline, flat ground, sandy ground. muddy ground, or rolling hilly ground.

At the bottom of this answer, you will find page links to free Cardio Walking Plans
, one easier plan, one slightly harder plan, and an Intense Cardio Exercise Plan in case you want to progress further. It is important to do cardio exercise at the right intensity. This should be not too low and not too high. So, follow the plans listed at the bottom of this answer.

As stated above (because there are so many variables to 'how many calories burned walking for one hour,' instead of trying to measure calories, measure the fat burning results. If you are a beginner and new to exercise, you may want to begin with a mild cardio walking plan, and then progress to an Intense Cardio Plan If you choose brisk walking mild cardio to begin with you can do it outdoors or on a treadmill.

First, however, as your question is about the calories burned, permit me to explain a little more about cardio exercise, in case you want to take it further and burn more calories. If you are unsure, cardiovascular (cardio) exercise is any activity, exercise, or sport, which increases your heart and respiration rates.

However, there are different degrees of cardio ranging from very mild to very intense. It is helpful to divide them into mild and intense. There is also an inverse proportion between intensity and duration.

For example, intense exercise must be brief! You can sprint 100 meters, but you cannot sprint 5000 meters. Intense Cardio Exercises include running, interval training, and graded exercise protocol. Please note that though Intense Cardio may sound harder (and, by that, less appealing) because it must be brief (compared to mild cardio) it can in fact better suit many people who

  • do not like exercise
  • grow bored during lengthy periods of exercise
  • do not have time for lengthy periods of exercise

So, look at the three plans at the bottom of this answer, consider your options, and choose the one that appeals to you most. Remember, that though cardio is excellent in relation to burning calories, the very best cardio for you as an individual is the one that you will stick with and not give up after the first two weeks.

Should you choose Brisk Walking (mild cardio) here is a brief overview (the plans below will give you the full details): "Brisk" walking is walking at a 4 mph pace. If you want to lose body fat then walk three, four, five, or six miles daily (depending upon how fast you want to lose weight) at a 4 mph pace. You do not have to do your entire daily walking at once; you may break it up into several shorter walks.

It is important to do cardio exercise at the right intensity. This should be not too low and not too high. Therefore, as stated earlier, follow the guidelines in the free plans listed below.

(If you are unaccustomed to exercise it is wise to first consult with you own physician before changing you exercise habits, especially if you already any known condition or disease.)

  1. MILD CARDIO WALKING TO BURN CALORIES PER MILE, Plan 1 (the easier plan)
  2. MILD CARDIO WALKING TO BURN CALORIES, Plan 2 (the slightly harder plan)
  3. INTENSE CARDIO EXERCISE, Plan 3

It depends how fast you walk and if you are walking uphill. Walking on an incline at 3.5 miles an hour for one hour would more than likely burn about 500 calories
