Advice to mother of the brides out there is to never to wait till you lose that 10-20 pounds, etc. Buy a dress that you love and look great in and if you lose the weight, get it professionally altered. You will be much happier and stress-free knowing that you already have a dress to wear on that very important day.

∙ 15y agoAlot depends on whether you are planning on growing or shrinking before the wedding. A few months ahead maybe a good time to go looking and get it altered to fit a couple of weeks before hand so you know it will fit properly.
