Depending on how long you let it idle at start up, the V Star 1100 will travel no more than 500 yards with the fuel shut off. I have done this a couple of times, once getting halfway around the block but that was not letting it idle very long before taking off. Typically, I get about 200 feet from my driveway before it coughs and sputters when I forget to turn the fuel petcock to the ON position.
