How fast can a NASCAR go?

Answer

The answer to your question "How fast can a NASCAR go?" is approximatly 200-300 mph

well currently with the restrictor plate carbs, it can go about 190 a 192 at tracks such as Talladega and Daytona, they can go about 200 to 205 at Intermediate tracks like California and Atlanta, but if the cars didnt have the Restrictor Plates at tracks such as Dega and Daytona, speeds would be well over 215 MPH. Im talking around 230 or 235. Oh yeah they do not use Retrictor plate carburators at tracks like Atlanta thats what makes it the fastest track in the Series.

To date the world record is set by Russ Wicks at a speed of 222.6 mph in a NASCAR spec Ford Taurus. However he reached this speed on the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah, not on a speedway.
